MACHAIL (KISHTWAR), Nov 23: Saying that BJP is totally confused over selling its real political ideology in Jammu and Kashmir, Working President, National Conference and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that the contradiction in the statements of BJP leadership gives a clear picture that the party wants to sweeten its poisonous political agenda to deceit people.
“BJP is fully confused how to sell its known anti-Jammu and Kashmir policy in the State, as such indulges in making contradictory statements and misleading people by falsifying facts”, Omar said adding that people of Jammu and Kashmir are well versed with the divisive, sectarian and regional bias nurtured by BJP since its inception.
Addressing political rallies at Ligiri, Machail and Gandhari in Kishtwar district and at Desa, Kastigarh and Banihal in Ramban and Doda districts, Omar Abdullah cautioned the people against getting astray by BJP’s tactical strategy.
Omar said that some six months earlier BJP fought Parliament Election in Jammu on abrogation of Article-370 and on its policy of One Flag, One Constitution and One President (Eak Nishan, Eak Vidaan, Eak Pradhaan) and today BJP leadership is saying that these are no issues. He said this is only to fool people for vote bank politics.
“Their anti-Government and anti-NC propaganda is nothing but a poll plank to make inroads into the secular and pluralistic ethos of the State and materialize its hidden agenda of dis-balancing the political stability and regional solidarity of Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.
Omar Abdullah said that National Conference represents the aspirations of the people of all regions, sub-regions and all sections of the society, and does not require any certificate from BJP or any other political party on this count, as its popularity and faith of masses in NC’s policy programmes are its strength and credential. He said the work done by National Conference led Government in the last six years speaks loud and clear on ground across the State for the glaring performance of the Government. He said propaganda of BJP and PDP leadership cannot eclipse the light emitting out of the thousand of projects commissioned and completed during the last six years in the State in all the development and public service delivering sectors.
Omar Abdullah said that BJP and PDP cannot belittle the historic and path-breaking achievements of National Conference led Government in empowering common people by establishing Panchayat Raj, by enacting legislations like Public Service Guarantee Act, Right to Information Act, introducing third party monitoring, reconstituting Accountability Commission, establishing Vigilance Commission, introducing Result Framework Document (RFD) in all Government departments ensuring outcome of development schemes and transparency in funds spending.
Omar Abdullah criticized PDP for its deceitful policies and trading the interests of Jammu and Kashmir for personal ends. He said PDP nurtured corruption, nepotism and misappropriation of public money during its tenure. He said PDP, in order to quench its thirst for power, tried to utilize all opportunity and mislead people by its known propagandists approach, falsehood and sloganeering. He said people have witnessed PDP tenure in power and felt the heat of the highhandedness, irregularities and corruption let loose on the society during its term in power.
The Working President, National Conference said that PDP has become germination ground for corrupt elements to flourish which is evident by the fact that this party has fielded corruption stigmatized persons in the Elections and encouraged all unscrupulous people to join PDP party fold.
Taking a dig on Congress for taking the credit of all the good work done by the Government during the last six years and shifting blames on National Conference for Congress party’s own shortcomings, he said this kind of political opportunism by Congress is most unfortunate and people will teach Congress a lesson for this kind of deceit.
The elections rallies were also addressed by Dr. Chaman Lal, Tanvir Kichloo, Sajjad Shaheen and other local leaders.
