BJP stages dharna, takes out protest march against scam riddled UPA

JAMMU, May 4: As a part of its nation-wide protest programme against the scam riddled UPA Government, state BJP held a protest march from party Headquarters, which culminated into a dharna outside Raj Bhawan here today.
The dharna was led by State President of the party Jugal Kishore Sharma against UPA Government, which the party alleged instead of solving the day to day problems of the people gave the country only scams like 2G scam, coalgate scam, the Commonwealth Games scam, Adarsh Housing Society scam, the Helicopter deal scam, the Aircel-Maxis deal scam, the Antrix-Devas deal scam etc.
BJP National Spokesperson Captain (retd) Abhimanyu, who was deputed by the Party High Command, also joined the dharna in front of Raj Bhawan. Addressing the dharna he said that BJP has all along worked for the honour of motherland and welfare of the masses. The nation, under UPA, has witnessed rise in corruption and with each passing day a new scam is unearthed. The UPA has achieved the distinction of being most corrupt Government in post independent India, he added.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, said that the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre  has proved to be the weakest dispensation which instead of working for the security of citizens, only indulged in corruption and shielding the corrupt elements. “This Government has only one policy and that is to loot, loot and loot the public money come what may’’, he added.
Leader of the Legislature Party Ashok Khajuria said not only the Congress-led UPA at Centre but NC-Congress coalition in the State has been also promoting corruption at all levels without any fear of the law of the land. He said that the time has come when all the people should get united and teach the UPA and State’s coalition a lesson for their malpractices and corrupt practices.
The dharna was also addressed by Chander Prakash Ganga, G.M. Mir, Kavinder Gupta, Chander Mohan Sharma, Bali Bhagat,Sat Sharma (C.A.), Mamta Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, Sanjiv Sharma and Munish Sharma. Among other BJP leaders party chief spokesperson and National Executive member, Dr Jitendra Singh, incharge Party cells Sat Sharma (CA) also participated in the dharna.
Later, a memorandum was handed over to Governor’s representative by Captain (retd) Abhimanyu, accompanied by senior party leaders.
