LEH, Aug 16: The Kashmiris want freedom from India while the people of Ladakh want freedom from Kashmir as Ladakhi has no future by staying under Kashmir rule.
This was stated by Ladakh MP Thupstan Chhewang on the eve of Tiranga Yatra organized by Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) as a part of National “Sankalp Yatra” programme.
MP further said that time has come for the Government of India to listen to the grievances of people of Jammu and Ladakh who had been showing undoubted faith and patriotic towards the nation rendering all support during all wars fought by the Indian Army.
“When we talk about Kashmir issue, entire State including Jammu and Ladakh are projected as anti-National State which is not correct as people of Jammu and Leh are proud to be Indian”, he said, adding that nobody can question their patriotic feelings and when it come to National cause Ladakhi will be the first to sacrifice for the sake of Nation. He said that Tiranga is the symbol of our democracy and feel proud to stay under National flag.
As a part of National “Sankalp Yatra” programme, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leh unit organised car and motor bike Tiranga Yatra from Leh gate to Choglamsar bridge.
Union Minister of State for Transport Mansukh Lal Mand-havia, Ladakh MP Thupstan Chhewang, Hill Council Chair-man Dr Sonam Dawa, Executive Councillors, Councillors, BJP Leh unit President Tsewang Gonbo, Yuva Morcha President Tahsi Khachutse, Mahila Morcha President and BJP executive members and workers participated in the rally.
Union MoS in his speech said that purpose of the Tiranga Yatra is to keep the entire Nation united for the development and prosperity of Nation. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sent him here to convey the message of taking the entire the Nation unitedly forwards and to fight against terrorism collectively. He added the to connect the entire Nation, PM has committed to build 1 lakh kilometer National Highways in five years and 36,000 km National Highway already build within short span of time whereas the previous Government managed to build only 92,000 km in 68 years.
