BJP Ministers face flak from partymen

JAMMU, Dec 30: Vocifer-ous resentment among the BJP  cadre against style of functioning of  own party Ministers in  coalition Government at the State was witnessed  as  a crucial  meeting was held here today for discussing implementation of the party agenda at ground level and preparations for the upcoming  Panchayat polls in Jammu Kashmir,
While some party functionaries accused  BJP Ministers of being insensitive towards public grievances as well as own party cadre, the national general secretary (Organization), Ram Lal Sharma, who had specially arrived here for chairing the meeting,  took cognizance of the complaints and issued necessary directions for putting a united face before the masses.
According to the sources, privy to the meeting, some BJP functionaries hurled serious allegations on the party Ministers and claimed that a strong resentment was brewing among the common people as well as the party cadre, who were feeling dejected over performance of the Government.

They complained  that the party Ministers used to dodge them whenever they seek an appointment for apprising them of the public grievances, sources said.  A BJP district president leveled serious allegations of corruption against a particular Minister while another district president alleged that the BJP Ministers avoid to meet them during  tour to their areas.
“People are virtually fed up with our Ministers and situation is turning from bad to worse.  Do something or there will be no one to offer even a glass of water to you people,” yelled another visibly annoyed BJP functionary while speaking in the meeting.
As Ram Lal sought to know about the progress on various guidelines, issued by BJP national president Amit Shah and implementation of the same, all the party Ministers, could not give satisfactory answer for their failure to visit the assigned districts for meeting party workers.
The BJP Ministers had to face embarrassment once again when they were listing their achievements with regard to the developmental works initiated by them and the MLA Sunderbani, Ravinder Raina interrupted by pointing out that all those works were being executed under Central schemes.
Sources said that Ram Lal also pulled up a BJP vice-president for his over-indulgence in the affairs of a ministry and ignoring the organizational responsibilities. He reiterated the direction to each Legislator and Minister to frequently visit the assigned areas and interact with the party workers for addressing their issues. He also stressed for strengthening booth level committees and monitoring meetings besides selection of suitable candidates in the Panchayat polls even as elections are being contested on non-party basis.
Stating that the election scenario in J&K was different from the other States owing to its difficult topography, Ram Lal emphasized on direct and continuous touch between the elected representative and office bearers of the party.
Union Minister and MP Udhampur-Doda constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh shared his invaluable experiences as Seh-Prabhari in Gujarat elections. While stating that total technique of elections has transformed owing to improved technology, he emphasized that BJP has an advantage due to world’s most regarded and successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  He also emphasized on the role of “Panna Pramukh” in ensuring the win, while saying “Har Din, Naya Din”.
Dr Nirmal Singh emphasized on role of party MLAs and Ministers in the present Assembly in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and said that a regular dialogue process between the party and Government has been an asset to the present dispensation for which the regular Coordination Committee Meetings are being organized from time to time consisting of senior party leaders from both the parties.
BJP State president Sat Sharma also focussed on increased need of coordination in party leaders and activists for the growth of party and extension of its ideology into every corner of region in view of approaching Panchayat elections.
Ashok Kaul, State general secretary (Org) stressed on the improved coordination of all party functionaries for the implementation of organizational agenda within the general public. He also stressed on the role of district presidents and Incharges as well the Shakti Kendra over the booths. He also detailed about the constructive role of party Vistaraks in the implementation of the good governance as well as the focus on winning crucial Panchayat polls emphasizing on the mantra of “Panchayat to Parliament” given by party national president.
BJP State general secretary Dr Narinder Singh detailed about the ongoing schedule of meeting by party Ministers with activists in a bid to further the cause of organization and address their concerns.
State general secretary Pawan Khajuria spoke on the party’s endeavour to improve the relations between the MLAs and the ground level activists of the party and carried the proceedings of stage.
BJP State office bearers, BJP Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, Chairpersons & Vice-Chairpersons of Boards and Corporations, District presidents, Morcha presidents and organizational general secretaries of various districts were present in the meeting.
