BJP kick starts party election process

SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) today kick-started the party organizational elections in Srinagar.
The election process was started by party State secretary and spokesperson, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, who is the party election In-charge for Srinagar, from Batmaloo constituency.
In this connection special election convention of all the party delegates and active members was held at Magharmal Bagh today. Batmaloo constituency In-charge, Zubair Nazir Wani, convened the proceedings of the process under the supervision of Dr Andrabi. Party leader Neelam Gash was also present on the occasion.
During the convention, a block level body of the party was elected by majority vote. The party also elected eighty (80) Booth committees of the constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Andrabi said, “BJP believes in the democratic constitution of the party from the gross root level and similarly in the coming days all block level bodies will be constituted and they will ultimately choose the District bodies in whole of Kashmir valley. Similar exercise will be completed simultaneously in Jammu Division and then new State body will be elected”.
“We hope that these elections will be paving way for strengthening the ground base of the party in Kashmir province too where we just introduced the party at a bigger scale. Now it is the time to expand the ground support-system in Kashmir so that in future party does well here too as it did in Jammu Division,” said Dr Andrabi.
