JAMMU, Apr 25: BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma today lambasted NC and PDP for discussing Afzal Guru in entire session of Assembly which concluded on April 5.
Addressing the public meeting at Udhampur today he said it was very painful that NC and PDP continued discussing Afzal Guru issue in the just concluded Assembly session with Congress reaming a silent spectator to it.
He said it is unfortunate that none of them had time for discussing the development and public issues raised by BJP in the House. The coalition was interested in adopting a resolution on Guru on the same pattern as was passed by Pakistan National Assembly to appease anti-national elements in the State. Not only this, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Coalition Government wanted that Central security forces patrol with lathis and not arms, which would have exposed them to grave danger and in fact has claimed many lives in Srinagar recently.
Earlier Jugal Kishore Sharma was taken in a huge motor cycle and car rally from Dak Bungalow, which passed through the main bazars of the city to D.N. Palace, where a largely attended public rally was held in his honour.
BJP Legislative Party leader Ashok Khajuria, coming down heavily on the State Government, said that it is more interested in the welfare of militants returning from Pakistan via Nepal, unauthorized route, and has no concern or feeling for patriotic youth of all the regions.
National Executive Member of the Party Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the people are fed-up with the UPA rule and want change. Plight of VDCs, SPOs, border people has worsened and there is discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh regions.
Shamsher Singh Manhas lamented the plight of the youth of the State who have no avenues of employment and are forced to leave for other parts of the country for their career.
National Executive member and chief spokesperson of the State Dr. Jitendra Singh, said that Jugal Kishore Sharma’s election as State president is indicative of the inner democracy in the party where no family holds any sway. Proceedings were conducted by State Secretary Pawan Khajuria and senior leader Som Raj Khajuria, who also addressed the rally, while it was organized by District President Dina Nath Bhagat.
Senior BJP leader Pawan Gupta and other Party leaders from the district also addressed the gathering.
