BJP disregarding mandate of Jammu people: Manohar

JAMMU, Mar 11: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP was disregarding the mandate of Jammu people.
While convening public meeting at village Dharmini in Billawar constituency today, the former MLA expressed deep concern over the failure of BJP and PDP Government in all fronts especially in deliverance and governance. Dr Sharma said that all the promises made by the BJP, both during Assembly elections in the State have proved fake as nothing has been seen on ground after a span of more than 2 years in power.
The working style of BJP in present dispensation is totally against the interest of Jammu province but the people of Jammu who have high expectations from BJP have proved fake. They created a wedge between the people of Jammu & Kashmir on the basis of regional and the communal agenda to achieve their vested interests.
They have taken “U” turn on all core issues of the state particularly pertaining to Jammu province. He referred to the opening of AIIMS at Jammu, completion of artificial lake on river Tawi, silence on abrogation of Article “370” which was core issue of BJP, Settlement of West Pak refugees and rehabilitation of displaced persons of 1947 , 1965 and 197, silence on separate homeland for Kashmiri migrants, relief to the farmers affected by the unprecedented rains and floods, affected people of border firing, non- availability of ration and sugar in the CAPD stores, employment policy for unemployed educated youth etc.
He alleged that Govt has failed to regularize the contractual teachers and lecturers, daily wagers, in clearance of liabilities worth Rs 100 crores in PWD, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control departments, clearing pending salaries of teachers under SSA, daily wagers and casual laborers.
