JAMMU, Aug 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Trade and Industry Cell delegation led by its State convener Vikram Randhawa met Divisional Commissioner Shantmanu and apprised him about the hardships faced by Machail Mata Yatris and demanded a thorough probe into the matter.
The deputation apprised Divisional Commissioner that despite Government’s assurance of providing all necessary facilities enroute to Machail Mata Shrine including their safe return to Jammu after communal clashes erupted in Kishtwar, the drivers of the SRTC fleet carrying pilgrims harassed them both mentally and physically.
The deputation apprised the Div Com that despite 15 buses available, only seven buses were made available to Jammu bound pilgrims which forced them to travel in overloaded buses. The drivers of the buses charged Rs 330-350 from each passenger and on demanding tickets they were asked to alight buses as theses buses were made available by Government for pilgrims free of cost, the delegation added.
Divisional Commissioner gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that a thorough probe in this regard will be conducted and those found guilty will not be spared.
Among others present were Tarsem, Mandal president, Neeraj Choudhary, Shashi Kohli, Balbir Choudhary, Rajesh Vaid, Ajay Kumar, Akhil Kohli, Vinay Sharma, etc.
