JAMMU, Sept 13: In a meeting of State Unit of BJP chaired by its President, Ravinder Raina here today the Governor, Satya Pal Malik was requested for early redressal of long pending demands of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rehber-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers.
These teachers are on indefinite hunger strike in J&K.
MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and BJP MLAs in the meeting extended support to the protesting teachers. Raina called the teachers as Nation Builders and added that they are being victimized at present due to non-implementation of 7th Pay Commission and non-delinking of their salaries from MHRD.
Raina said that during a meeting on August 30 with Governor, the BJP delegation raised the issue of SSA/ReT and apprised the Governor about the agitation launched by these teachers in favour of genuine demands.
