BJP committed to welfare of tribal people: Poswal

KUPWARA, May 4: Ishfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, vice-chairman, Maha Samparak Abhiyan, Kupwara, today said that BJP-PDP coalition Government was the first in the State which created the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in Jammu and Kashmir for the welfare of these people living in far-off areas.
He was addressing people mostly Gujjars and Bakerwals in remote areas including Tumina, Haphrada, Hachmarg and Bolenard of frontier Kupwara district.
“Although there was representation of Gujjars and Bakerwals but these people were largely neglected by successive Governments in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Poswal, and assured the gathering of Gujjars and Bakerwals that the new Government will fight for their rights.
Poswal said that BJP was committed to provide all basic facilities including health care, better roads, power and potable water to the people especially those living in far-off areas near Line of Control.
“Through Samparak Abhiyan, we will strive to reach out to neglected people in Kupwara district and address their issues,” Poswal added.
