BJP busy in shawl, mango diplomacy with Pak: Azad

NEW DELHI, Dec 19: Former Union Health Minister  and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad today alleged that BJP is busy in shawl, saree and mango diplomacy with Pakistan while the border people in J&K are suffering due to firing by Pak troops and militants’ attacks.
Interacting with media-persons here today, the top AICC leader said, “ While the life of the residents on the borders has becomes miserable in J&K state, the BJP Government is busy in shawl, Saree and mango diplomacy with Pakistan”.
He pointed out that the people residing along the international border and also along LoC in J&K state, have been suffering for the last several months due to ceasefire violations and terrorists intrusion and attacks from that side, the BJP leadership was busy in exchange of gifts and bonn-homie.
Castigating the BJP leadership for its tall talk on ceasefire violation, Azad said that since the formation of NDA Government  at the Centre, ceasefire violation has become a regular feature on the border and villagers residing in border areas are facing untold hardships.  He further said while the BJP Govt has miserably failed to put a halt to ceasefire violation of the border, UPA Governments’ 10 years brought huge respite to the border residents in terms of peace and tranquility.
Asserting that Congress party due to its harmonizing agenda and acceptability in the regions and sub regions of the State has regained the political space in the State, the former J&K Chief Minister said that he is confident about Congress party’s success in the ongoing Assembly elections.
He further said that the results will be surprising and all the assessment made by so called political ‘pandits’  will prove wrong.  “People of the state in all the regions have shown immense faith in Congress party in the first four phases and it is going to emerge as a strong force in the State”, Azad maintained.
Mr Azad said that no government  in the State is possible without the participation of the Congress party. He said   all the other political parties divide and polarize, Congress stands for unity and progress. He further said that the Congress led Govt from 2006 to 2008 set an example by making good governance and equitable development as the key agenda of the Govt.
“All other political parties believe in hollow promises and divisive agenda, where as Congress led government makes progress and development of all the regions of the State its prime agenda”, said Azad.
Express confident that people will give chance to the Congress Party to lead the government in the State, Azad said that this will revive the slowly moving developmental process and brighten the future of the youth of the State.
