JAMMU, Jan 1:  Former minister and senior vice president of PCC Sham Lal Sharma has stressed the need for strengthening the bonds of social fabric and mutual brotherhood to make the society more harmonious and prosperous.
Addressing a large gathering of people at a function organized in connection with the celebrations of  New Year at Akhnoor today, Sham Lal fired a salvo on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his electoral promise to bring back black money stashed abroad and asked  how many citizens have received Rs 15 lakh in their bank accounts. He said that Modi, during the 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign, had prominently highlighted the issue of black money and had promised to bring it back. He had said that every citizen will receive Rs 15 lakh in their bank accounts.
“Before (Lok Sabha) polls, Modi had said black money worth around Rs 2 lakh crore is stashed in foreign banks and had promised Rs 15 lakh in the bank account of each citizen. Two years in power, how much of it has been brought back ?” Sham Lal asked.
He further said that the  BJP exploited the sentiments of people of Jammu by various slogans of abrogation of Article 370, delimitation of constituencies, plots to the border residents, besides promising a Chief Minister from the region,” he said.
“BJP has no sense of responsibility and respect towards the needs and sentiments of Jammu people. The BJP should  come forward instead of taking  U- turn and keeping people in dark to address their issues,” Sharma said.
Senior members Kanta Bhan, Manmohan Singh, Namrata Sharma, Shahnawaz Choudhary, Shashi Sharma,  Shobha Singh, Anil Chopra, Uday Chib, Neeraj Kundan, Sushma Singh, Rajiv Khajuria and large number of former Sarpanchs/Panchs, members of Block Congress Committee and  prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
