JAMMU, Aug 2: Accusing the BJP of bartering away the pride and honour of the people of Jammu region to satiate its lust for power, Harsh Dev Singh NPP Chairman and former Minister today made a forceful appeal to the people of Jammu to strengthen Panthers Party which he claimed was the only credible voice of the people of the region.
He said that NPP was the only recognized political party from Jammu region as against the other two recognized political parties of J&K namely NC and PDP which were Kashmir based and predominantly raked up Kashmir centric issues. He said that BJP which had mesmerized and lured the people of Jammu region with its seductive slogans during elections inflicted the biggest dent upon Dogra pride by succumbing on almost all Jammu based issues before its Kashmiri masters.
Charging the BJP for its betrayal on its professed promises and fundamentals, Singh urged upon the people to oppose, expose and depose the saffron Juggernaut for its demagoguery and sheer opportunism.
Expressing strong indignation over the statement of CM that none will carry the National Flag in Kashmir if Art 35A was tinkered with, Harsh Dev Singh rebuked BJP for its criminal silence and submissive posturing thereby conveying its acquiescence. He said that hoisting of Tricolour which symbolized the national pride and honour could not be conditional or made hostage to the whims of politicians only to please subversive and separatist forces. The BJP not only failed to counter the Chief Minister’s highly contemptuous statement but the saffron rule witnessed the most glaring instances of disrespect to national flag during the last two and a half years, lamented Harsh.
Harsh Dev Singh said that hundreds of educated youth who had been victims of extremely biased polices of PSC had announced their support to the JKNPP and the party shall stand toe to toe and shoulder to shoulder with the aggrieved Jammu youth so as to ensure them justice. He regretted despite dozens of protests, demonstrations and hunger strikes being held by un-employed and under-employed educated youth on day to day basis, the BJP-PDP Govt displayed utter apathy to their concerns with none in the govt to even take stock of their sufferings.
