Women’s Cricket U-23 One Day League

JAMMU, Mar 19: Splendid all-round show by Bismah Hassan and a superb bowling display by Nadia Chowdhary helped Jammu and Kashmir to thrash Goa by 28 runs in a low scoring match of the ongoing Women’s Cricket Under-23 One Day League at SCA Stadium, Khandari B Ground, Rajkot.
Earlier, wiing the toss and batting first, J&K scored a paltry total of 86 runs in 34 overs. Bismah Hassan top scored with well made 47 runs off 71 balls, while Nadia Chowdhary and Iqra Rasool contributed 10 and 9 runs to the total respectively. Bismah played an awe-inspiring innings and helped the team to manage somewhat fighting total. She hit the ball with fluid grace and utter brilliance. From Goa, Gawde Diksha captured 3 wickets, while Tejaswini and Raksdhanda claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Goa bundled out for a meagre total of 58 runs, courtesy brilliant bowling show by Nadia Chowdhary, who took 6 important wickets by giving way just 8 runs in her 7.2 overs, while Bismah bagged 3 wickets by conceding 24 runs in her 10 overs. Sadiya Wani also claimed one wicket. Shrey and Ghadi scored 17 and 12 runs for Goa respectively.
With this win J&K earned 4 points, while Goa failed to secure any point.
