Bikram Chowk Flyover to be commissioned next month

JAMMU, Mar 16: Rs 77 crore Bikram Chowk Flyover will be commissioned by April this year.
This was stated by Vinod Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of ERA during his visit to the flyover today along with other officers to identify the minor left over works to be completed before the completion of the flyover.
He said that the structural part of the flyover is almost complete to the extent of 95 percent and now the emphasis is being laid on allied works like lighting , painting,  premixing , erecting of crash barriers, view cutters etc.
Sharma has issued directives to all agencies associated with the project were directed to further accelerate the pace of work on these left over minor works to ensure commissioning of work by April this year.
The 1.3 km long flyover from Bikram Chowk to Green Belt Gandhi Nagar is being executed by JKERA under its ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development investment programme funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB). With the commissioning of project the movement of traffic from Bikram Chowk to Satwari will be streamlined to great extent.
During his visit CEO ERA was accompanied by R K Gupta, Director ERA Jammu, S K Gandotra, Project Manager, Transport, JKUSDIP, Jammu, Shakti Sagar, Deputy Project Manager, Transport Jammu and other officers of ERA besides the experts.
