Bikes taken away by tourists recovered from Manali

SRINAGAR, Nov 3: Police today said that it recovered bikes from Manali city of Himachal Pradesh which were taken away by Malaysian tourists from a Srinagar based bike rental services.
A police spokesman said that police station Kothibagh received a complaint from Faisal Nazir Mir who is running Kashmir Travelogue bike rental services. The complainant submitted that three Malaysian tourists have taken three Royal Enfield bikes from him on rent for a trip to Leh. The complaint further stated that the tourists had left the country without returning the bikes.
“On receipt of this information, a case under FIR number 69/2017 under Section 406 RPC was registered and investigation was set into motion,” said the spokesman, adding that during the course of investigation, the Malaysian embassy was contacted and after strenuous efforts it was found that the bikes were dumped at Manali. A police party was dispatched to Manali and all the three bikes were recovered, he said.
“After proper verification, the bikes were later handed over to the owner,” the police spokesman added.
