Biased administration bullying opposition parties: Harsh Dev

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Dec 2:  Accusing the Deputy Chief Minister,  Nirmal Singh of using the civil and police administration of Udhampur to browbeat the Panthers’ workers and to settle political scores with them, NPP  chairman Harsh Dev Singh today cautioned the saffron leaders to refrain from politicization of bureaucracy.
Alleging subversion of democratic rights of NPP in district Udhampur, Singh said that its workers were being bullied, harassed, intimidated, terrorised and implicated in false police cases at the behest of BJP leaders. Seeking the personal intervention of the Chief Minister  Mehbooba Mufti into the motivated administrative activism against Panthers Party, the Party Chairman further appealed her to hold a Public Darbar in Udhampur on the analogy of public grievances redressal camps held by her in various other districts of the State and to assess for herself the highly biased functioning of the Govt functionaries.
Expressing concern over the utter neglect and deprivation of the villages that had voted for Panthers Party in last Assembly elections in the constituencies of Ramnagar, Udhampur and Chenani of district Udhampur, Singh said that several officers had themselves confessed to have received instructions in this regard from BJP leadership. He said that several employees and officers were harassed and pre-maturely transferred in the said constituencies for having addressed the public demands of the villages that had voted for opposition parties particularly the NPP.
Not only was the conduct of the BJP leadership opposed to democratic principles but also mocked at the slogan of ” Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” so loudly trumpeted by PM Modi and his colleagues, asserted Singh.
Apart from the neglect of Panthers’ bastions in the matter of development on political considerations, the police administration had registered dozens of FIRs against Panthers Party workers for highlighting their grievances through protests and demonstrations.
