SRINAGAR, Aug 3: Police today destroyed bhung in various areas of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A Police spokesman said that on the directions of SSP Bandipora, Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, Police Station Hajin destroyed contraband crops in their jurisdiction.
He said a police party headed by SHO Police Station Hajin, Muneeb-ul-Islam along with youth and civil society members destroyed Bhung spread in Kathpora, Vijpora Hajin and its adjoining areas.
“Senior citizens and youth of the area appreciated the efforts of Bandipora police to curb the drug menace in the area. The drive will continue in other areas of District Bandipora,” he said.
