JAMMU, Feb 23: Congress leader and member civil society Kishtwar, Shasmsher Singh Bhandari while reiterating his demand of opening Nashri tunnel without further delay said that the people visiting Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban and Kashmir were facing hardships due to closure of road at different places from Patnitop onwards due to land slides especially during Winter.
In a statement issued here today he said even during the emergencies people of the three districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban can’t reach their destinations in time while shifting serious patients to Jammu or other places for treatment.
Bhandari also demanded that immediate steps be taken for four lanning of Batote-Kishtwar road to overcome increasing accidents on it and also make a hassle free journey possible. He said the road is presently in dilapidated condition. He also demanded that the nursing college be opened in Kishtwar as was announced by Health and Medical Education Minister last year.
