KISHTWAR, Jan 12: Senior Congress leader and Member Civil Society Kishtwar, Shamsher Singh Bhandari has demanded that the work on widening of Batote -Kishtwar Highway be taken up in hand immediately and it be made a four lane highway in view of the increasing traffic rush on it and being the only life line connecting the twin hilly districts of Doda and Kishtwar.
He demanded the road be also handed over to some reputed construction companies of the country in road sector for its speedy construction.
Bhandari also demanded that the Government should pay attention in tapping of the huge resources of power in Doda and Kishtwar districts by taking up power projects like Keeru Hydel Project which has a generation capacity of 600 MWs, Kawar Hydel Project which has the generating capacity of 820 MWs, Pakal Dool which has a capacity of generating 1020 MWs, Bursar which has a capacity of generating 1000 MWs, Dulhasti Stage IInd which has a capacity of 450 Mw and Rattle Drabshala with capacity of 850 in hand immediately to boost the power generation in the State and to over come the growing unemployment.
