Bhalla inspects under execution teacher bhawan, auditorium

JAMMU, Jan 9: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today inspected pace of progress on under construction teacher bhawan and auditorium at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar.
Mr Bhalla during the inspection took stock of each work of the projects and directed concerned executive agencies to redouble their efforts for time bound completion of these projects for percolating the benefits to the people.
Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB), Ram Pal Sharma, Chief Education Officer Tarseem Lal Bhagat besides other senior officers of Education Department and JKHB accompanied by the Minister during the visit.
The Minister asked the JKHB to complete all the allied works of both the projects by June this year. He said that on the completion of 500-seater air conditioned auditorium the educational institutions of Gandhi Nagar and its adjoining areas would be able to organize different activities in the new complex.
Mr Bhalla said creating this facility for the schools as a part of a larger plan under which various community and associational Bhawans being constructed such as Kissan Bhawan, Engineering Bhawan, Haj House and Yatri Bhawan.
The Minister said that promotion of culture and art has received focused attention of the Government, adding that all other cultural centers would be modernized and equipped with high-tech audio-visual systems in a phased manner across the State.
The Minister said that newly coming up 101-beded Teacher Bhawan would provide free accommodation to teachers who visit Jammu from other districts for official work.
Later, the Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of additional block at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar. He asked the concerned executing agency for ensuring its time bound completion. He asked the Managing Director for formulation of estimate report for white wash of Government Girls Higher Secondary School building at Gandhi Nagar.
