Bhagwati Nagar people demand removal of mobile tower

JAMMU, July 27: A delegation of residents of Bhagwati Nagar called on Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, (JMC), Kiran Wattal and apprised him of the health hazards created due to installation of a mobile tower on the roof top of one of the houses in the thickly populated area on Bhagwati Nagar.
The delegation, while expressing its concern over the installation of obnoxious mobile towers in the residential areas causing health hazards and proving dangerous for humans with their ill effects on every aspect of their lives demanded that they be removed at an earliest.
The delegation said that no objection has been sought from the adjoining houses in the locality whose lives have been put to grave risk with the installation of the tower.
The Commissioner assured the delegation that immediate steps will be taken for removal of mobile tower from the area keeping in view its ill effects on environment and lives of people living in the vicinity.
It may be recalled that the people of the area have already given a representation to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu seeking his immediate intervention in the matter.
