JAMMU, Jan 7: J&K unit of Bhagat Mahasabha today organized a function here at KL Sehgal Hall, Abhinav Theatre, to pay tributes to Yug Pursh Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the founding father of the Indian Constitution.
In the beginning of programme, homage paid to Baba Sahib by showering flowers on his portrait by chief guest, Bhusan Lal Dogra, vice Chairperson, State Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Schedule Castes.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof Raj Kumar Bhagat, National president of Bhagat Mahasabha, threw light on the life and struggle made by Baba Sahib for down trodden people. He also highlighted his service towards the Dalits which will be remembered forever.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, National vice president, Bhagat Mahasabha and Mahinder Bhagat, president, Bhagat Mahasabha, J&K unit, appealed the SC community to wake up and work together against the mafia trying all time to hit the reservation benefits.
Pawan Bhagat, Chairman, J&K unit of Bhagat Mahasabha, said best way of remembering Baba Sahib is to strengthen amity and working towards realization of his dream of having a society where every segment of population enjoy equal opportunities of progress and development.
Tarsem Bhagat also threw light on the sacrifices done by Saheed Bhagat Amar Nath Ji without whom effort made by Baba Sahib for reservation was going waste in J&K.
Prominent among others who were present in the function were Dr Zubeer Ahmed (general secretary JAKRCEA), Pira Ditta (president, Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, J&K), BR Rao (president, Mahasha Sadar Sabha, Jammu), Veeru Ram (president, Barwala Sabha), Narinder Bhagat (general secretary, Megh Sudhar Sabha, Jammu), Roshal Lal Bhagat (State co-ordinator, Bhagat Mahasabha, Punjab unit) and Pritam Lal Bhagat (advisor, Bhagat Mahasabha, Punjab unit).
