Bengaluru still ahead in availability of jobs in IT sector: Survey

Bengaluru in comparison to other cities is still ahead in terms of availability of jobs in Information Technology (IT) sector, says a survey.
For software and allied services, Bengaluru (30 per cent) still has the highest availability of job offerings followed by Hyderabad (19 per cent), Delhi (17 per cent) and Ahmedabad (12 per cent) and cities like Mumbai (11 per cent) and Chennai (11 per cent), the research survey conducted by Youth4work.com, an online portal for students said.
The research said the jobs once confined to Bengaluru – the IT hub of the country, are diffusing to other cities as well, like in Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Hyderabad.
The survey said for hardware engineering and allied jobs, Bengaluru (30 per cent), Hyderabad (18 per cent) and Chennai (17 per cent ), Delhi (17 per cent) have jobs availability on the marginal differences while Mumbai (14 per cent) and Ahmedabad (4 per cent) ranks the lowest.
As much as 28 per cent youth from Bengaluru are into software jobs, followed by Hyderabad (23 per cent), Delhi (22 per cent), Mumbai (15 per cent), Chennai (10 per cent) and Ahmedabad (2 per cent).
Around 26 per cent youth from Delhi are engaged in Hardware jobs, followed by Bengaluru (24 per cent), Hyderabad (20 per cent), Chennai (12 per cent) and Ahmedabad (3 per cent).  (UNI)
