Bee Gees stage musical in works with Barry Gibb

LOS ANGELES, Nov 9:  Iconic pop group Bee Gees will be live once again and this time it will be with a musical on stage.
The band, which shot to fame in the late 1960s, comprised the line-up of brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, is getting a theatrical treatment.
Universal Pictures president Jimmy Horowitz announced that it has struck a deal with Barry, Yvonne Gibb (Maurice’s widow) and the Estate of Robin Gibb to develop a stage musical based on the life story of The Bee Gees, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Barry will serve as an executive producer on the project, which will feature the band’s iconic music.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our family… It’s another adventure for us and a chance to throw the spotlight on all my brothers and finally the real story of us will be told,” he said in a statement.
The Bee Gees were famous for their legendary songs such as “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” “Too Much Heaven,” “Nights on Broadway” and “Stayin’ Alive”, which led to the creation of “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack in 1977. (PTI)
