JAMMU, Apr 23: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), has expressed strong resentment over the erratic and unscheduled power cuts in the industrial area.
The Association members in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Annil Suri (president) here today discussed the issue pertaining to deteriorating power supply position in SIDCO Industrial complex, Bari Brahmana, Jammu for the last few months. The members strongly flayed the working of PDD authorities where no one is accountable for repeated power failures in the industrial  area.
The BBIA members alleged that concerned department was not taking this issue seriously due to which the industrialists are facing huge financial and production losses. The PDD authorities are responsible for the supply, maintenance and up keep of the power infrastructure in the industrial complex should be held accountable for repeated power breakdowns.
It was pointed out by the   members that the matter was discussed with the concerned officers a number of times but no improvement has been witnessed. They give the plea of non-availability of sufficient funds. They said as per information the funds for the replacement of damaged equipments has been sanctioned by the Chief Minister as disclosed in the Industrial Advisory Committee meeting but unfortunately no action has been taken till date.
They said Bari Brahmana Industry is contributing Rs 120 crore as revenue to the State  and if PDD spends hardly 1 or 2% of  it, the power supply position can be improved. They sought the intervention of Chief Minister in this regard.
