UDHAMPUR, Nov 8: Local villagers today protested against worst condition of under construction PMGSY road from Upper Battal to Ladyala in Udhampur district.
According to the locals, who are dependent on this road as only surface link to reach to their destinations, the first phase of works has not been completed by the concerned contractor in the last five years. Even as villagers approached the PMGSY Department and Mari Sadak App highlighting their grievance, there was repeated excuse that the contactor was not adhering to the guidelines.
The condition of road has worsened to the extent that one can’t even walk on the same. The school going children are suffering most because of failure on part of PMGSY to get the road work completed, the villagers said.
