Basharat resumes office

Jammu, Feb 20: Senior PDP leader, Basharat Bukhari, who had resigned from the Cabinet on February 17, today resumed his duties as Horticulture Minister thereby indicating that all issues had been resolved amicably with the party leadership.
Reliable sources said, “the Horticulture Minister again had meeting with Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti at her official residence today morning. The Minister had another round of meeting with the Chief Minister and few other Cabinet colleagues, when he visited Civil Secretariat at around 2.30 pm”.
“I have resumed office today and met the Chief Minister. All the issues, which I had mentioned in my resignation letter were discussed with the party president. Besides, we also discussed the subjects mentioned in my communication, which I had sent last month and many more related to party affairs and the Governmental issues as well”, said Basharat Bukhari.
Brushing aside reports suggesting that he had tendered his resignation over the issue of portfolio, Bukhari added, “portfolio wasn’t the issue but there were certain other matters, which needed detailed discussion. The matters pertained to several development issues confronting the State and even some party affairs”.
Imran Ansari, who had also quit the Cabinet, has proceeded on 10 day pilgrimage tour to Iran.  Before leaving the summer capital, the Minister also had detailed meeting with the Chief Minister on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is likely to leave the winter capital on February 22 for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
