Baramulla wins Kashmir Open Hockey C’ship 2017

SRINAGAR, Oct 3: Vikram Club Baramulla today defeated Singpora Sports Club by 2-1 to win the final of Kashmir Open Hockey Championship 2017 played here at Bakshi Stadium.
MLC Khursheed Alam who was the chief guest on the occasion gave away the winning trophy to the Baramulla team.
Highlighting the importance of sports, the MLC said it is important that youth are indulging in sports activities as it is the sports which inculcate values of team spirit, and sportsmanship in a player.
He said the Government is making serious efforts to promote the sports culture in the State by developing infrastructure at various places.
The tournament which saw the participation of 14 teams had started last month on September 25, 2017.
