Baramulla resident booked in Udhampur Court

UDHAMPUR, Jan 20: The Court of Judicial Magistrate, Udhampur, Junaid Mir took cognizance of a complaint under Section 420, 409 RPC against one Habibullah Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohd of Range Baramulla Kashmir.
The complaint alleges that accused has duped three persons one of them belonging to Udhampur for providing them jobs as jawans in the Territorial Army. The accused is alleged to have received Rs 18 lakh  from the complainants and has provided them fake appointment letters of Army Recruiting Centre, Srinagar bearing signature of Commandant Officer ARO – 56 Srinagar Kashmir.
When the complainants approached the Army JAKLIE Centre Srinagar for joining, they were not allowed to enter and turned humiliated and were also told that no fresh appointment has ever been made in the unit. The court said that a perused of the record before the court records prima facia sufficient grounds to proceed against the accused and directed the SSP Udhampur to produce accused before court within 48 hours.
