SRINAGAR, Apr 12: Scores of members of Bar Association Budgam today held a protest against Kathua lawyers for blocking challan in horrific rape-and-murder case of Asifa Bano.
The bar members assembled at main Budgam Chowk and condemned the action of Kathua lawyers who prevented Crime Branch from filing the charge sheet.
The protesting bar members demanded that the case be transferred from Kathua. “We strongly condemn the recent action of Kathua lawyers. The Asifa rape-and-murder case should be transferred to Srinagar or within the premises of Jammu. We demand fair trial so that Asifa gets justice,” Bar president, Noor Mohammad said.
