JAMMU, Oct 9: Banyan International School, in association with SPIC MACAY, J& K organized ‘Fall Retreat’ in the school premises, here today.
The programme provided every child to experience the inspiration and mysticism embodied in Indian and World heritage.
The event was graced by the presence of renowned musical maestros Kalapini Komkali, Shambunath Bhattacharya and Chetan Nigam with dignitaries of SPIC MACAY, J&K Sapna K Sangra, State Chairperson, Seema Rohmetra, Coordinator, besides Pooja Mahajan and Miho Mahajan, members of the School Management.
It is pertinent to mention here that SPIC MACAY (Society For The Promotion Of Indian Classical Music & Culture Amongst Youth) is recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana award. It was founded in 1977 with an aim to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of the Indian Heritage.
The students were spellbound by the melodious notes of Kalapini Komkali, recipient of fellowship from Dept. of Culture, Govt of India and Kumar Gandharva award by Pujari Pratishthan of Pune.
The event provided a great opportunity to young Banyanites to hear, see and interact with maestros and understand the art form.
The musical extravaganza which started from October 8 will continue to enthral the audience till October 13, 2018 in various educational institutions of J&K.
