At Jammu city, the striking officers held a massive demonstration at SBI Zonal Office, Rail Head Complex, under the leadership of Satish Khajuria, State president and Suresh Wali, State secretary of AIBOC, J&K state Unit.
The demonstration was attended by a large gathering of officers from various PSU banks, who raised slogans in support of their demands, which include; Full and Complete Mandate for officers (Scale I to VII) for wage revision in 11th Bi-partite
Settlement, salary revision as per charter of demands only, ensure proper work-life balance of the bank officers and immediate introduction of 5-day week, settlement of retirees issues including family pension/ updating of pension, focus on Core Business and NPA Recovery, stop mis-selling of Third Party products, scrapping of NPS and switching over to Defined Pension Payment Scheme as existing, immediate resolution of HR issues in Catholic Syrian Bank and lOBI Bank, parity in Pension and other benefits of RRBs with Public Sector Banks.
They were also opposing fractured Mandate, proposed amalgamation of Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank, Government move to merge/ amalgamate existing Regional Rural Banks, unabated attack on Bankers in various parts of the country while discharging official duties, unilateral reduction of medical benefits of officers and steep increase in Medical Insurance Premium of retirees
While addressing the striking officers, Suresh Wali lambasted the IBA & the Finance
Ministry for taking the officers’ community working in the Banking Sector, specifically the PSU Banks, for-granted. He said that all financial schemes of the Govt of India are being launched through the Public Sector Banks only but when it came to demanding legitimate and legal rights of the bank employees, the Government conveniently ignores their demands.
He stressed that the Bank officers were determined to get a fair and honorable wage revision for all officers from Scale-I to VII at the every cost and scale of struggle. He also explained in detail how IBA was bypassing the demands raised in the charter of demands.
