JAMMU, Apr 15: Vice Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, Balbir Ram Rattan met Union Minister Thaber Chand Gehlot at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, wherein he handed over a booklet briefing his ten months work.
The booklet ‘Vice Chairperson at work’ highlights welfare schemes for the unemployed people of the weaker sections, organization of awareness camps to emphasize the Corporation schemes, VC’s interactions with the unemployed members of the reserved categories like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Safai Karamcharis, people with physical disabilities and those from National level Notified Minorities, besides his official meetings and visits to the loaned units for physical verification in different districts of the State.
The four Apex Corporations at National Level which come under the Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and provides funds to the J&K SC, ST, BC Development Corporation as their channelizing agency are National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation (NSFDC), National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation, (NBCFDC), National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation (NHFDC) and National Safai Karamchari Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC).
Two other Apex Corporations for Scheduled Tribes and Minorities come under the Union Ministries of Tribal and Minorities Affairs respectively.
