RAMNAGAR, Aug 8: Expressing his serious concern over casual approach being adopted by the authorities in checking the land sliding, which has been posing serious threat to Ramnagar town, senior Congress leader and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Thakur Balbir Singh today assured the people that he would take up this matter with the authorities concerned at higher level.
“It is very unfortunate that sliding is posing a grave threat in Ramnagar town but authorities at the helm of affairs appears to be non-serious”, Singh said while interacting with people at Ramnagar. He, however, said that he would take up this matter with the officers of the Geology and Mining Department and other concerned authorities to check sliding. Singh said that he would also bring the matter to the notice of higher-ups in the administration to provide immediate relief to the people.
Singh, while addressing public at Ramnagar, regretted that performance of PDP-BJP Government appears only on papers. He said that except photo session and issuing lengthy press notes, Coalition Government has done nothing to solve day today problems of the people.
He regretted that system appears to be completely collapsed because power and drinking water are luxuries in this belt. As 15 to 20 hours power cut is routine affair in this belt, water supply is also badly affected, Singh said.
He pointed towards shortage of ration in the belt. He said that system has been totally collapsed in this belt. He regretted that on the one hand people have been confronting with the shortage of ration while as on the other authorities have not taken any step to solve this problem. He further said that health and education sectors were also defunct in this belt. He said that there was huge shortage of teaching staff in the schools.
Sanjeev Jandial, Brij Mohan Sharma, Vijay Manhas, Shashi Manhas, Nasir Wani, Shastri and others also spoke on the occasion.
