Bajaj Auto, Mumbai Unv, Nagaland Govt extend financial help to flood-ravaged J&K

JAMMU, Sept 17: Bajaj Auto today announced a contribution of Rs 20 crore towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to help relief operations in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir, whereas University of Mumbai and Nagaland Government also announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively. Even, UAE will send urgent humanitarian assistance for the flood victims.
Bajaj Auto today announced a contribution of Rs 20 crore towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to help relief operations in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.
“We feel the grief of our fellow citizens in the State and they need our help at this critical time to come out of this tragedy and to rebuild their lives”, Bajaj Auto Limited Chairman Rahul Bajaj said in a statement.
The company would like to join the government’s effort to help in relief operations in Jammu & Kashmir and provide all support to the affected countrymen in the State, he added.
Meanwhile, University of Mumbai donated an amount of Rs 25 lakh today to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to rehabilitate victims of devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir.
University of Mumbai’s Vice Chancellor Rajan Welukar met Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of the University Ch Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai and presented a cheque of Rs 25 lakh addressed to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the disaster in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Government of Nagaland has also contributed Rs 10 lakh to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for flood relief in Jammu and Kashmir, said an official of the Home Department, Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority today.
The UAE will send urgent humanitarian assistance to the flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir, where millions of people have been impacted by the worst floods in over a century.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has ordered authorities to send urgent humanitarian assistance to the victims of the disaster.
