Bail of 2 narco smugglers rejected

JAMMU, Jan 31: Principal Sessions Judge Samba M L Manhas today rejected the bail applications of two narco smugglers namely Mudassar Ahmed Bhat and Ishfaq Ahmed Ganai.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Bhupinder Singh Charak appearing for the State whereas Advocates Ganesh Sharma and Monika Kohli appearing for the accused persons, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “courts cannot lose sight of the fact that crime of smuggling of contraband drugs is on increase and the perpetrators of the crime must be dealt with iron hands”.
“The crime committed by applicants/accused is against the society and by their criminal activities they are spoiling the young generation of the country. Such types of offences are to be dealt with severity and with iron hands”, the court said, adding “showing leniency in such matters would be really a case of misplaced sympathy”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
