Bail denied in rape, murder case

JAMMU, Mar 18: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Kishore Kumar today rejected the bail application of Rajni Devi, wife of Sunil Kumar of Chinore, who was allegedly involved in rape and murder of a girl.
According to the police case, on March 19, 2015 missing report of a girl was lodged at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and on few days later her mother approached the police with the complaint that her daughter was kidnapped by one Sunil Kumar and his wife Rajni Devi of Chinore with intention to kill her.
During investigation, Sunil Kumar and his wife Rajni Devi were arrested and during interrogation they disclosed that on 12.03.2015, they enticed and induced the victim from Nanak Nagar to Rehari Chowk and later took her to Chandan Vihar Muthi in a house belonging to Mohinder Kumar where Sunil Kumar and his wife were putting up on rent.
In the house the girl was raped and then strangulated to death. In order to destroy the evidence, Sunil Kumar and Rajni Devi chopped body into six pieces, which were later kept in a septic tank made in the courtyard of the house.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “accused cannot be admitted to bail on the ground of ailment of her daughter in such a heinous and gruesome crime committed against an innocent girl”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
