JAMMU, Jan 2: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu MA Chowdhary today rejected the bail application of Rajinder Singh, who was caught by Pacca Danga Police along with 15 kilograms of poppy straw.
After hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas, the court observed, “drug Abuse has became a major problem of the society over the years. The cases against drug peddlers indicate that interstate drug rackets are targeting school kids as well”.
“The illicit drugs have a high addiction potential and there is gradual increase in their intake, getting the users dependent on these drugs both physically and psychologically. The compulsive drug seeking and use, on addiction, causes chronic brain disease changing the brain, its structure and how it works”, the court said, adding “the deadly menace, a major problem of the society, requires to be checked through strengthening the reinforcement”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
