JAMMU, Jan 1: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Shahzad Azeem today rejected the bail application of alleged medical narco smuggler namely Rajesh Dutta.
After hearing APP Abdul Hafiz for the State, the court observed, “menace of drug trafficking has drastically shoot up during the last two decades and has swollen in its venomous ambit the young generation of the nation besides seriously jeopardizing the economy of the country”.
“In case perpetrators of this gruesome crime are allowed to roam freely, there is likelihood of repetition and continuing transportation and smuggling of narcotics”, the court said, adding “keeping in view the stage of investigation and bar of Section 37 of NDPS Act, exercise of discretion is fraught with danger”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
