JAMMU, Jan 21: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M A Chowdhary today rejected the bail application of one Ankush Kumar, son of Harmesh Kumar of Bishnah, who was allegedly involved in gun firing at Bishnah.
After hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the State whereas Advocate Sham Lal appearing for the accused, the court observed, “charge against the accused is yet to be considered. The use of a firearm has been shown in the commission of the offence by one of the accused”.
“It has also been alleged that both of the accused including applicant were involved in the commission of offence punishable with life imprisonment. The charge is yet to be considered and in my considered opinion, the grant of bail to the applicant/accused at this stage shall be pre-mature particularly so in view of the apprehension that he may jump over the bail and/or also tamper with the prosecution evidence”, Additional Sessions Judge said.
“Therefore, application for grant of bail at this stage is pre-mature and is liable to be rejected”, the court said while rejecting the application.
