JAMMU, Sept 28: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Haq Nawaz Zargar has rejected the bail application of 65 years old man Girdhari Lal, son of Punnu Ram of Rajiv Nagar, who was allegedly involved in rape case.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “it is true that offence of rape is more serious offences against the woman and the person who is prima facie found to have committed such offences is not entitled to the concession of bail”.
“The offences more particularly against the women have been viewed to be offences against the society at large and letting the accused on bail in such heinous offences, if prima facie, committed, would definitely have deleterious effect on the mind of general public and would encourage re-occurrence of such crime”, the court further observed while rejecting the bail application.
