Backward Classes Union criticizes MLAs’ view on reservation bill

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 2: All India Backward Classes Union has appealed MLA Engineer Rashid and Mohd Yusuf Tarigami to review their view point on reservation bill, brought by the former and supported by the latter in the State Assembly for an amendment in Reservation Act 2004.
A meeting of the union was held under the leadership of Abdul Majid Malik wherein both the MLAs were criticized for not taking up the issue in right perspective. The meet observed that the duo must first understand the Supreme Court’s judgement on Mandal Report, which pertains to OBCs only whereas in J&K this definition includes RBA, ALC and real OBCs are called OSCc here.
The MLAs are only talking about the restrictions mentioned in the Mandal report and not for its implementation, speakers in the meet said adding that the legislators should have raised the issue of RBA and ALC, who are being provided with 20 percent and three percent reservation respectively and not covered under the judgement of Mandal report.
The meeting was attended by Shambu Prashad, Abdul Rahid Teli, Mushtaq Ahmed, Master Sain Dass, HM Sandokh Chand, Rakesh Kumar, Mouj Sharan, Puran Chargotra, Deep Malia, Karan Tagotra, Prof Kali Dass and others.
