Azad in Indian delegation to condole death of King Abdullah

New Delhi, Jan 24: A high-level delegation led by vice president Hamid Ansari has flown to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on behalf of Government of India, to offer condolences to King Salman on the sad demise of King Abdullah.
The delegation, among others, comprises of Ghulam Nabi Azad, leader of opposition in LoP Rajya Sabha, Mikhtar Abbas Naqvi, MoS, Ministry of Parliamentary Affair and M.J. Akbar renowned journalist.
While condoling the demise of King Abdullah, Azad said “It is very saddening and shocking, as the world has lost a visionary leader in the passing away of King Abdullah. He has transformed Saudi Arabia into a rapidly growing economy characterized by modern and state of art infrastructure”.
“Late King Abdullah was a staunch advocate of strong and friendly relations with India and under his leadership, the two countries shared an excellent bonding”, said Azad.
The delegation led by Hamid Ansari will take an opportunity to meet King Salman to convey the condolences of Government of India and its people to the bereaved people and Royal Family of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
