Ayurvedic Congress urges Govt to speed-up investigation in drug scam

JAMMU, Jan 5: Working Committee of All Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress met here today under the chairmanship of its State president Dr B R Sharma and expressed its grave concern over the spurious drug scam in the Ayurvedic Department.
The meet said that the large scale supply of spurious drugs, unfit for human consumption , to the ISM institutions since last many years was not only against public interest but also symbolizes administrative anarchy  prevailing in the department of AYUSH.
Alleging the ongoing investigation was going on snail’s pace, the Ayurvedic Congress urged the State Government to speed up investigation and pin point all those who were actively involved in heinous crime.
The meet also demanded that present State level Directorate should be immediately bifurcated with subsequent establishment of Provincial directorates as recommended by the State Finance Commission, opening of Government Ayurvedic College from next academic session, provision of non-gazetted staff for 45 ISM dispensaries functioning single handed since 1983, opening of new dispensaries in each district, regularization and provision of staff for 74, 22 AYUSH units etc.
The meeting was attended by Dr H N Patwari, Dr T R Gupta, Dr D S Sambyal, Dr B D Gupta, Dr O P Gupta and others.
