JAMMU, Jan 29: Minister for  Planning, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra today said that Government is encourage those who want to set up own income generating units, adding that the policies framed to generate jobs in private sector for unemployed youth in the State are showing encouraging results.
This was stated by the Minister after inaugurating a stone crusher, established in private sector, at Nandni in Marh constituency here today.
The Minister said that the tendency growing in the educated youth to set up income generating units rather following Govt jobs is a good gesture and will not only create income source for them but also  employment opportunities for other persons also depending upon the size of the units.  “Becoming a boss is the best policy rather listening to others,” the Minister said.
Ajay Sadhotra said that implementation of SKEWPY was aimed to motivate educated youth towards self employment. He said, “Government is not able to provide Govt jobs to everyone” and asked people to change their mind set and come forward towards self-employment schemes for which Government is extending financial incentive and expertise guidance to the promoter for better results.
The Minister appealed people, present there, to persuade their children towards self-employment schemes rather allowing them to waste their time in looking for Govt jobs. He said there are number of potential sectors where people can invest and earn their livelihood. He said tourism, dairy, sheep, poultry, handicrafts, automobile are among the potential sectors where people can invest and earn livelihood.
He said that setting up of stone crusher will help Government in taking forward developmental projects started in the area. He said men, machinery and material are important constituents of every development projects and asked the management of the unit to take care of environmental precautions in the area.
