JAMMU, Oct 17: Expre-ssing shock over controversial remark of a UP Legislator regarding Taj Mahal, Member of Parliament, Dr Karan Singh has stressed that we should be proud of pluralistic nature of our cultural heritage.
In a statement, issued here today, Dr Karan Singh described Taj Mahal as the most beautiful building in the world, which is premier destination for foreign tourists as much part of our proud cultural   heritage as the great Brihadeshwara Temple in Tanjavur, the unique artistic efforescence of largely Buddhist artists in Anjanta/Elora, the lovely Jain temple in Ranakpur and recently built Bahai temple in Delhi.
“In fact the pluralistic nature of our cultural heritage is something of which we should be rightly proud and any attempt to denigrate the glorious Taj Mahal is unfortunate and unacceptable,” said Dr Singh who has remained India’s first Tourism Minister for six years, Member of the UNESCO Executive Board for eight years and an inveterate traveller around the world.
