JAMMU, Nov 20: Athrot Charitable and Cultural Society in association with Kashmiri Hindu Sabha, (KHS) Pune organized a cultural programme to showcase and connect the Kashmiri Pandits living in exile with their roots.
Athrot organized a mesmerizing and nostalgic cultural event on Sunday in the city of Pune, with active support of KHS, Pune. eveny
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Sulakhshana Dhar, Corporator, Padamshree Pran Krishan Koul, and renowned artist of community, Kanwal Peshin of Athrot.
A bhajan presentation was performed by Kanya Lal Razdan, a noted singer leaving the audience spell bound, followed by a Power Point Presentation on Kailash Mansarovar yatra.
This was followed by a short Play ‘Dastaras Kar Reach’  written and directed by Kanwal Peshin full of humor and satire and equally high on a critical message for younger generation impressing upon them their duties towards their moorings. The play was enacted by Arvin Tickoo versatile actor, Anil Koul Chingari comedian and Kanwal Peshin. It mesmerized the audience.
On this occasion, the film on life and teachings of Alakh Ishwari Mata Shri Roop Bhawani recently released in Jammu was screened in the jam packed hall.
An upcoming artist known for his blunt, blue and brilliant comedy, Anil Koul Chingari left the audience gasping for breath with his verbally potent and physically eloquent comedic acts.
In his message, Kanwal Peshin, said, “Athrot is committed to uphold the cultural and social anchors of the community and establish the lost connect of progeny with roots.” He added “our culture is under grave threat of extinction and we must work at a war footing to save it’’. The vote of thanks was presented by Sanjay Dhar general secretary of KHS Pune and presidential address was made by I K Koul of KHS. Corporator Sulakshana Dhar and Padmashree Pran Kishore Koul applauded the efforts of Athrot.
