Asthi Kalash of Vajpayee immersed in river Chenab

JAMMU, Aug 23: The ashes (Asthi) of former Prime Minster and Bharat Rattan, Atal Behari Vajpayee were immersed in river Chenab, (Chander Bagaha) at Akhnoor amid chanting of Vedic hymns and with full reverence by the Party leaders and activists today.
Hundreds of people drawn from different parts of Akhnoor tehsil and town participated in the rally which was taken in the town along with Ashti Kalash before their immersion in the river.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina earlier brought the “Asthi Kalash” from BJP office Mukherji Hall Jammu to Akhnoor where hundreds of party activists were eagerly waiting to get the sight of “Asthi Kalash” of a “Yug Purush”. They converged into a huge rally at the BJP office near Telephone Exchange Akhnoor.
MP, Lok Sabha, Jugal Kishore Sharma, State president BJP, Ravinder Raina, MLA Akhnoor Rajiv Sharma, MLA Khour Krishan Bhagat and other senior leaders were among hundreds of party men who paid tributes to this great son of India.
Ravinder Raina, while paying glowing tributes to Atal Ji said that he was always loved by all people irrespective of their political affiliations. He said, Atal Ji commanded a good respect among the people belonging to different  ideologies.
He said that Atal Ji was the true patriot who served the mother India with all his dedication and commitment. His demise is a huge loss to the Nation, he added.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, said that Atal Ji will always be missed and his memories will remain alive in the soul of “Bharat”. He said that Atal Ji was a great visionary, great poet, statesman, mentor of millions. He was leader of masses, man of words who always stood by the side of ground level activists, he said and added that all the activists looked towards him for guidance and advice.
Bharat Bhushan Gupta recalled the old memories of strong intellect and leadership shown by Atal Ji. He said how Atal Ji guided the party during its Doda Bachao Andolan and other agitations.
After the tribute programme at BJP office, the “Asthi Kalash” was taken to “Chander Bhaga” in the form of “rally”, where the “ashes” of the great public leader were immersed in the holy waters of sacred river, with the chanting of Vedic hymns.
MLA Akhnoor Rajiv Sharma, MLA Khour Krishan Lal Bhagat, Suresh Sharma, Suraj Singh, Anuradha Charak, Anu Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, all Mandal presidents, were among the prominent BJP leaders who paid tributes to  Atal Ji on the occasion.
