Association discusses Pharmacy Act with Drug Controller

JAMMU, Nov 15: A delegation of J&K Government Pharmacist Association, under the leadership of Sushil Sudan, president JKGPA and Member Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), called on the Durg Controller Lotika Khajuria and discussed with her the points, which were raised in the minutes of meeting of Pharmacy Council of Indian, also attended by Sushil Sudan as Member of PCI.
Sushil Sudan apprised the Drug Controller that Pharmacy Council of India has decided to take up matter of amending the Pharmacy Act 1948 again with the State of J&K and hence copy of previous communications in this regard as well as the new reference to the Ministry may be made available to him.
The PCI will write to Registration of Authority of the J&K State to conduct refresher course for registered Pharmacists under the intimation to PCI Member Sushil Sudan. The Drug Controller was also apprised of all the correspondences made by PCI to the concerned Ministry for the amendment in the J&K Pharmacy Act 1948.
The Drug Controller gave a patient hearing to all the points discuss in the meeting and assured the delegation that she would take up the matter with higher authorities for positive consideration of all the demands and issues.
Those who accompanied Sushil Sudan in the delegation, included Choudhary Jarnail Singh, R P Singh, Madan Sharma, Surinder Choudhary, Vishal Patil and Subash Choudhary.
